They say that the world is getting smaller by the minute and to be honest; it’s hard to disagree with. The world indeed is shrinking and distances are simply becoming numbers. No distance is too far these days. We can talk to our loved ones or even get to them in almost blink of an eye. One of the biggest reasons behind this is drastically improving transportation facilities. Gone are the days when you had to take a ship to get to the other part of the world which used to take months to reach. Nowadays, all you have to do is simply hop on a plane and you reach your destination within a blink of the eye. Aviation has surely played a major; if not the biggest role in making these distances seem so small.

And whenever we mention aviation, we simply have to talk about Delta Airlines too. Delta Airlines is the biggest Airlines in the terms of passengers it ferries across to several destinations all over the world every year. It also has the largest fleet size in the world. It is the second highest revenue grossing airline in the entire world. With such impressive feats it’s just natural for us to ask as to what is it that makes the Delta Airlines successful. Let’s take a look at the factors that make it the best over all its competition.

If you have ever run a business organization or have been involved in running one, you would know that the success of a business depends a lot on the way you expand. Expansion for sure is one way to gauge a company’s success rate. This is where Delta Airlines has simply left everyone behind. After being established in 1920s for aerial crop dusting, Delta has gone on to become one of the biggest airlines around the globe. It has been possible because of its aggressive expansion policies which involved mergers with other airlines and to several parts of the world. This policy has been so successful that Delta today serves passengers in all continents of the world except Antarctica and has seven subsidiary airlines under it which give it the maximum scheduled passenger traffic over any other airlines. Obviously, having such a policy also gives you a lot of passengers and allows the passengers to make all their bookings with Delta alone which ensures a huge loyal customer base for them. The most recent take over by Delta was the one with Northwest Airlines in 2008. Their network has become so extensive that a passenger can travel all the continents of the world except Antarctica by simply having to log on just once with Delta Airlines.

Delta Airlines are also successful because they give their customers the first priority every time you chose to travel with them. The biggest proof of this is the fact that Delta is the founder member of Sky Team Alliance and has a special loyalty program known as Sky Miles which rewards their most loyal customers with several gifts and special vacations. This goes on to show that the trick to success is simply satisfying your customers.
